Prestage Location form
You use the Prestage Location form to add a block to the prestage group, including its relative position within the track plan. The blocks can be stack blocks, and a single block can serve more than one prestage group. N4 creates a transfer zone association between the block(s) in the prestage group and the track plan before generating the yard.nyd file.
When you edit a prestage location, the following fields are not populated: Top Offset, Bottom Offset, Left Offset, and Right Offset. These fields are only used for geometry calculations; they are not valid fields of the PrestageLocation entity in the database and are therefore not saved in the database.
To add or edit a prestage location:
From the Prestage Location Block list, select the yard block serving the prestage group.
(Conditional) If you are creating a fixed track plan, define the offset fields for the XPS client to use in rendering the prestage location and the tracks on the track plan. (If you are creating a relative track plan, which means you selected the 'Spots Relative' check box in the Track Plan form (on page 1), the offset fields are not available in the Prestage Location form.)
In the Top Offset field, enter the Y coordinate value for the top of the prestage lane, in relation to the track plan. This is the distance, in pixels of the top line of the prestage lane or location from the uppermost border of the track plan.
In the Bottom Offset field, enter the Y coordinate value for the bottom of the prestage lane, in relation to the track plan. This is the distance, in pixels of the bottom line of the prestage lane or location from the uppermost border of the track plan.
In the Left Offset field, enter the X coordinate value for the leftmost edge of the prestage lane, in relation to the track plan. This is the distance, in pixels, of the left line of the prestage lane or location from the left-most border of the track plan.
In the Right Offset field, enter the X coordinate value for the rightmost side of the prestage lane, in relation to the track plan. This is the distance, in pixels, of the left line of the prestage lane or location from the left-most border of the track plan.
Click Save.
Make sure that prestage locations fall within the scope of the track plan polygon and within the boundaries of the rail tracks. If not, they won't display properly.
Always make sure to delete any old or unused blocks and prestage locations. When you delete a prestage location, N4 also deletes the transfer zone associations for the prestage location's stack block.
